As part of Kickin' Country 2017
GOLDEN GUITAR FINALIST
STANDLEY STRIKES AGAIN!
JUSTIN’S story and entry into the Australian country music industry is the stuff of legends. Booted from the X Factor 2012 after a controversial decision by Ronan Keating and Mel B; into a year of recording and touring Australia with the Tamworth based Lindsay Butler Showband; hitting rock bottom after the Toyota Star Maker Finals 2014; before clawing his way back to become one of Australia’s most sought after country festival and club performers with a 2017 Golden Guitar nomination for best new talent. What a journey!!
While JUSTIN’s latest no.1 hit, Beechworth Gold, still sits high in the top 10, he has released a personal song dedicated to Ophelia, one of the daughters he spent the best part of 12 years trying to find.
“I auditioned for the X Factor on Opho’s 18th birthday in 2012. I wrote this song for her 21st birthday and she was actually in the studio when we recorded it with MATT FELL. It was a very special moment. I’m so proud of her. Opho is a full-time presenter in Broken Hill on 2BH/Hill FM.”
“Sweet Ophelia” is the 6th single from JUSTIN’s 2016 album release “Hold On To Love”, which has already spawned five top 10 hits (including two at no.1)
